A free screening of Alberto García-Alix's film From Where There is No Return (2008). Though the film is presented as part of his exhibition, this is a theatrical screening of the full-length film.
García-Alix takes us on a journey through his past and present work, detailing his life over the past forty years. The poetic monologue reflects a subjective and intimate meditation on memory and his photographs.
Photography chains my memory. It doesn’t just confine it to what has been seen.
The soul of photography is the encounter.
Yesterday I photographed silences, today I photograph my own voice.
This journey, woven over a memory of lights, flashes, optical illusions, is looking for a revelation.
