Silver and Salt is a razor-sharp exploration of the tragic legacy of celebrated photographer Max Hollingbourne's family, the story of two sisters, bound by their history and driven to repeat it.

An excerpt from a review in the Daily Mail introduces Silver & Salt brilliantly: "In the Sixties, Max ‘The Face’ Hollingbourne is the photographer of choice for stars from Barbara Hepworth to Audrey Hepburn. But his dedication to his art comes at a cost: his wife’s sanity crumbles and his sensitive younger daughter, Ruthie, is deeply scarred. Some decades on at the family’s seaside villa in Greece, a tragedy occurs, and Dymott’s novel is concerned with unravelling the backstory to this. Silver and Salt juxtaposes the precise mechanics of the photographic process with the fluidity of memory to great effect."

Elanor Dymott was born in Chingola, Zambia, in 1973. She was educated in the USA and England and spent parts of her childhood in South East Asia, where she later worked. Her first novel, Every Contact Leaves a Trace, was published in 2012. She lives in London.
